Fucken bucketin’ down there for the last while – I’m waiting in The Philharmonic to go out the town and buy a belt for these cords that are fallin’ off a me; and I want to get a haircut too. It’s my theory that beors tend to cut fellas hair better than fellas do. I reckon a beor will cut it how she likes a man to look and a man will cut it to try and eliminate some of the competition; not consciously like (most a the time anyways)

I could clean the guitar but if it came fine then I wouldn’t be able to go when I’d need to go in order to be back in time for the scran at 4 bells. (I love this ‘clean the guitar’ lark – you’d swear I do it often – I didn’t clean it right since I got it) Had the leek and potato soup already and I’m nicely looking forward to what’s on the menu in a while…

It’s a reasonably lazy day here in ScouseLand. Passed The Royal Court earlier where we used love to play. Posters up for …….. wait for it …….‘The Little Scouse On The Prairie’. I’m no big panto fan but I reckon that one’d have to be good….and I hear they’re going to do a TV show called ‘Desperate Scousewives’ – no shortage a humour up this side.

Well I did get out for a walk between the worst of the rains; bought a Carhartt, one-size-fits-all, belt with metal clip at the front that I couldn’t figure out and had to go back and ask the shop-assistants how to open it, very embarrassing, but at least now my strides aren’t falling down below the top a me underpants like the modern fashion-merchants.

Didn’t see the hair-cut possibility – one place was cuttin’ for forty-five quid – don’t need that. The rest I passed seemed to be fancy womens’ joints. Maybe Aberystwyth tomorrow..

All sounds boring, I know, but that’s what a lot of tour days are like, and I love them. My teachers used often say to me that I was easily amused. I always took it as a compliment. Back here then and had hake and spuds and tiramisu.

We’ve got a class backing singer called Violet joining us tonight – she’s local and knows some of the lads from singing in Dublin over the years – she’s sounding class in the soundcheck anyways.

And Keith Mullins eventually gave a name to his band – ‘Winter’s Promise’ – I like it, it ties in well with the colours in his songs; better than my suggestion would  – Keith Mullins And The Mullinses.

I think that’s about it for the moment – “That’s it really” as Paddy Casey said in Trafalgar Square wan time.
